I have been here, in Denmark, for 100 days.
I cannot believe it. I have made it 100 days in Europe without any major disasters!
This experience has been incredible and I only have 17 days left! They are going to be crazy, ridiculous, insane 17 days because I have a list of 100 things (ironically) that I have to do between now and then.
However, because this is a monumental day, here is a list of 100 (10) lessons/things I have learned from my semester abroad:
1. Copenhagen is amazing (obviously)
2. DIS is amazing (obviously)
3. How to use public transportation
4. The Danes are very good at making pastries
5. I will never be able to afford living here (I love my Starbucks too much)
6. Homesickness is a very real thing
7. European currencies are so much prettier than dollars
8. Sunshine should be (and is) worshipped
9. Wandering is the best way to experience a city
10. I am going to miss Copenhagen more than I can express
But really, being here in Denmark has been an incredible experience and I have learned how to be an independent on a level I never thought I would. After being here and traveling with both DIS and my friends, I would feel comfortable traveling on my own, in the US and in Europe. I have learned so much from the Danes about the value of family and balancing with work and play. Denmark is the happiest country in the world, and it is so obvious when here. I love Copenhagen and I will treasure the precious 17 days I have left here and I am envious of all those who will study at DIS in the future.
