I leave for home in 18 hours.... how did that happen?? My apoligies for not writing these last couple weeks, with classes ending and our architecture final due it was been a little hectic over here. I finished out the semester strong and I am pretty happy with how everything turned out.
I have spent the last few days packing and shopping... if you thought packing to come over here was stressful, this is so much worse. I am scambling to fit all my things in two checked bags, a rolling carry-on, and a backpack. In fact I am devising a plan to try and get my rolling bag just on the plane becasue it is a little over weight. We will see. I hope I get everything on the plane tomorrow, wish me luck!
This last weekend was a fantastic end to the semester. My host family was pretty disappointed to learn that my birthday is in April from the beginning, so they announced that my Danish Birthday is December 10... not that that is a caluclation or anything, it is just the last saturday I am here haha. They woke me up sining and with a lovely breakfast. They also hid several gifts around the living room for me to find; it was one of the best birthdays. Magnus, Frida, and I went to Tivoli later that day and had a blast going on all the rides and seeing the Christmas lights. It was a wonderful day.
I am going to miss is so much here. I walk down the street and it breaks my heart to think that this is the last time I could ever see these buildings. I hope I can return some day with my family to show them all the amazing places I went, but you never know. I am just so thankful that I am living in a homestay, so I have a family to spend my last night with. I am sitting on the couch with a cup of tea in front of the fireplace with my host mom and my host dad is making dinner. I cannot imagine a better way to end my semester abroad.
I have loved my time here, but I am also so ready to be home. To hug my parents. To snuggle with my dogs. To eat Goldfish. Its the small things.
